Strategic Events Specialist

Main responsibilities

The successful candidate will be required to take briefs from across the organisation for a broad range of activity - from large scale exhibitions to seminars, briefings and VIP Trade Missions. The role holder will be expected to challenge and interrogate those briefs in order to design compelling and market-leading event propositions that will maximise the ROI on all Events and Missions and deliver exceptional outcomes for UK customers. They are also expected to help internal customers become "intelligent commissioners", helping guide them through the principles of developing effective event briefs to maximise ROI, streamline processes and deliver a highly effective programme for UK customers

Experience required

* Ability to turn basic event briefs into compelling event programmes that deliver strategic value to the organisation and UK companies
* Experience of a broad range of Events allowing the role holder to draw on extensive experience
* Budget design and management
* Tenacity and professionalism
* Creative design and awareness
* Knowledge of UKTI event activity is desirable
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to negotiate effectively with senior personnel

Desirable Qualifications

* A marketing qualification such as CIM or a recognised CAM.
* Prince 2 Practioner or equivalent
