Storage Solutions Software Engineer

Job description

- Analyze and review product requirements and product specifications input from the Storage Solutions Product Management, and discuss technical feasibility.
- Build technical design proposals.
- Develop new software components or modify existing ones.
- Conduct peer code reviews.
- Plan, define, and perform unit testing, and report about tests results.
- Create or maintain technical documentation.
- Integrate individual software components developed by yourself and others members of the development team.
- Solve defects reported in the defect tracking system.
- Identify risks and discuss them with the Quality Assurance team, in order to build adequate test plans.
- Provide work estimates for the tasks assigned to you.
- Perform adequate and timely reporting of your daily work and assigned tasks.
- Follow established procedures related to the software development life cycle process (SCM, defect tracking, build management, coding standards, ).
- Identify and propose process improvements.

Profile

- Linux system/Kernel level development experience (2+ years).
- File system I/O level development experience would be an asset.
- Knowledge of XFS, StorNext file systems would be an asset.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Willing to invest in knowledge of broadcasting solutions.
- Achieves high quality results through thoughtful analysis and planning; target driven and result oriented.
- Focused on quality, detail minded, willing to take care of customer point of view.
