Storage Area Network Admin

Link Technologies is currently recruiting for a STORAGE AREA NETWORK ADMIN. This is a contract position working on an exciting new project in Colorado Springs, CO. Candidates interested are encouraged to apply.

SUMMARY:

Seeking an experienced Storage Area Network Administrator (SAN Admin) to support a critical Homeland Defense program for the client's downtown Colorado Springs office.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

The SAN Admin has a minimum of five years of experience in configuration, security, failover, and optimization of SAN systems. The ideal candidate is also a quick learner and must be able to adapt to quickly evolving technology and priority changes. In addition, the candidate must have a desire to work closely with other members of the IT/development team.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Monitoring and managing multiple IBM DS4000 and DS5000 series SANs for external storage capacity
- Maintaining documentation reflecting the current operational external storage environment
- Integrating system storage monitoring with Tivoli Monitoring suite products
- Planning and implementing firmware/management code updates
- Planning and ensuring redundancy for all critical components
- Formatting and assigning external disk space
- Evaluating logs and HW for errors and taking corrective action
- Ensuring adequate backup for all recovery scenarios
- Reviewing logs for errors or potential problem alerts and taking corrective action

NON-TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Capable of working on individual tasks, as well as team-oriented tasks
- Ability to prioritize competing priorities
- Ability to work under a cross-Matrix management structure
- Required to be on-call and respond in a timely manner
- Potential limited travel

PREFERRED SKILLS:

- IBM Tivoli Storage Manager
- IBM AIX Operating System
- IBM Tivoli Monitoring
- Windows Operating System

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT:

- Bachelor's degree with 5 or more years related professional experience in a technical field.

CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:

- ITIL v3 certification
- Other job related Certifications

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:

DoD Secret and DHS Suitability

DUTY HOURS:

8-5 M-F
