We are currently looking for one of our projects (6 months) in Geneva for a STORAGE ARCHITECT.

You will have responsibility for providing expertise on various aspects of storage design solution offerings specifically on the Vblock. You will bring design, development and hands-on experience to support the development of solutions. You will interact with other members of the VCE Solution Engineering team on an on-going basis.

Job Requirements:

Performs complex analysis of data storage requirements and solutions for the deployment of a SAP solution on a VBlock 300
Work closely with the SAP Architect to perform complex analysis of BRS requirements and solutions to backup and restore SAP Landscapes
Exercises initiative in architecting enterprise data storage designs; using a variety of different operating systems (UNIX, Windows, IBM AIX and Linux); to include creating, removing, and managing allocated storage space as needed to assure successful day-to-day operations.
Develops the data storage design and software from documented requirements, performs unit and integration testing, and supports system and acceptance testing as required.
Determines the impact of changes in systems and applications upon the enterprise data storage architecture, and makes recommendations to support release planning and implementation for applications developers and systems administrators.
Supervise the installation, configuration, and testing of data storage components.
Coordinate with system administrators (including hosted client systems) for IBM AIX, UNIX, Windows and other operating systems to complete various storage related tasks such as zoning, allocation, and troubleshooting.
Provide daily administration, support and management of a large, complex SAN and NAS environment.
Resolve and troubleshoot technical issues on data storage reported by Operations and/or reviews of log files.
Author, review and update documentation of procedures and methods as needed.
Write detailed instructions of new procedures to be followed by the data center operations team.
Must have experience with SAN, NAS, and backup technologies
Must be able to Add/Delete/Modify Storage LUNS and host assignments
Evaluate, test, design and integrate new storage technologies into the environment to meet changing business needs. Provide recommendations for future capacity growth.
Must have experience managing Brocade or Cisco fabrics
Must have experience to Add/Delete/Modify SAN Zones using Cisco/Brocade Fabric Manager
The ideal candidate will be able to architect a migration strategy from Legacy storage (Open Systems SAN) to newer storage
Performance tuning - Must be able to recommend changes that will positively impact database and server performance
Experience with Recoverpoint a plus
DR Planning & Design
Day to day troubleshooting of issues involving NAS or SAN storage and backups

Skills
Other desirable skills:
Oracle
General understanding of Oracle Database (multiple versions), RAC, Middleware and Oracle Applications.

SAP
Understanding of SAP applications, SAP NetWeaver, BASIS administration, and SAP infrastructure (database, operations) support

BRS
Understanding of Backup and DR solutions including EMC's Data Domain and Avamar products, VMware's Site Recovery Manager, EMC RecoverPoint, VPLEX, and SRDF solutions.

Virtualization
Technical knowledge of multiple server architectures, distributed systems and platform operating systems. Deep knowledge of the VMware product portfolio, Microsoft Hyper-V, and Citrix virtualization architectures. Experience with designing, building, installing, configuring and supporting multi-terabyte information infrastructure for ESX server deployment and migration of conventional systems into virtualization.

Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Bachelors (CS/EE/Technology) or equivalent workplace experience
Strong written and oral communication skills
Decisive but inclusive decision making in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently with light supervision
Able to prioritize tasks and work collaboratively with various stakeholders
Enjoy working hands-on in a lab environment to conduct system installation, configuration and design validation
