Staff Nurse - Day case (Fixed Term contract)

Fixed Term Contract 6 Months / Full Time
Salary £34,000 pro rata

The Staff Nurse main responsibility will be to assess, plan, deliver and implement a high standard of nursing care, ensuring that the individual needs of the patient are responded to. The Staff Nurse will require effectively working within the team, supervising junior staff and deputising for senior staff when necessary, as well as independently.

Duties and Responsibilities
•Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care to meet the patient and their family's needs
•Plan and deliver care for admissions and discharges
•Early recognition of clinical problems and report or take appropriate action
•Maintain accurate records
•Decontaminate equipment, ensuring it is in good working order
•Undertake extended roles such as venepuncture, cannulation and phlebotomy
•Initiate improvements and developments in clinical issues and delivery of care
•All ad hoc nursing duties as required by senior staff, including potential deputising for seniors in their absence

Skills & Experience
•RGN, NMC registered with PIN
•Previous recent experience in an general surgery setting
•Confident communicator with high levels of written and spoken English
•ILS trained
