Sr. User Experience Engineer

 

GoAhead Solutions has a great opportunity in Chicago, IL for a Sr. User Experience Engineer. This would be a Four month contract to start out.

Job Description:

Provides product usability, evaluation and support to product development teams, including the analysis and investigation of applications/systems, graphics, web, multimedia, voice response and conversational user interaction. Creates, evaluates and modifies prototypes to support evolving software application development. May develop user profiles, with emphasis on human error control, display issues, visual interaction, physical manipulation, and task and objective analyses. May assist in developing design concept and implementation, providing input on user design considerations. Develops and applies software design/usability processes in the investigation of technical problems. May produce specifications describing user requirements and internal structures for product in development.

Desired skills:

-Thorough knowledge and significant experience with user-centered design practices. 
-Expertise in user research methodologies, application of visual information design techniques, and an understanding of 508 and I18N requirements. 
-Experience with prototyping tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, HTML, CSS). 
-Appreciation and commitment to incorporate high level of visual design
-Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
-Expertise in creating and reviewing interfaces for quality and consistency.
-Excellent communication and, and ability to consistently deliver on schedule. 
-Ability to work independently, work on multiple projects at once, and handle shifting priorities. 
-Self-starter with strong project management skills

Responsibilities:

-Works with customers and other subject matter experts to identify and validate rebranding requirements and translate those into highly useful and usable designs. 
-Works with developers, product managers, business analysts, and QA, to rebrand existing web interfaces in an Agile environment.   
-Communicates status of projects and escalates issues as necessary to UX leadership. 
-Articulates the pros and cons of rebranding decisions and support choices with clear, detailed evidence and rationale for decisions. 

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
