Sr. Geoscience Technician

*

Files, retrieves, creates and maintains geological/geophysical data including 2D & 3D seismic trace data

*

Loads and updates well data and well locations in existing databases using appropriate software
Supports all exploration functions including the creation of cross-sections,
digitized maps, synthetic seismograms, geophysical models, PowerPoint slides,
montages, charts and reports as required

*

Generates and compiles information required for government regulatory compliance

*

Maintains company geophysical/geological databases, file systems and records archives and anticipates needs of geologists and engineers in their use
Maintains monthly subscriptions, maintenance agreements, license agreements,
scout information and data releases as required

*

Prepares support documentation for portfolio presentations

*

Coordinates the flow of information between vendors and company personnel

*

Verifies the accuracy of reports, maps and reservoir data

*

Provides routine maintenance and re-supply of appropriate equipment as required

Job Requirements

*

High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred

*

Eight or more years of oil & gas experience required

*

Eight or more years work experience required

*

Or College degree with six years oil & gas experience

*

Excellent analytical & mathematical skills

*

Excellent communication skills

*

Excellent knowledge of standard geological/geophysical displays and well logs

*

Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Lotus Notes and Power Point

*

Excellent knowledge of specific software systems, terminology and procedures

*Must be authorized to work in the USA*
