Position

Summary

Under the supervision of the Senior Geoscience Advisor provides geo-tech support primarily to Geology and Geophysics, and secondarily to Engineering. Requires strong proficiency with geo software and GIS systems. Capable of creating 3-D projects and loading data to server, generating geologic cross-sections, digitizing, drafting, and researching data availability. Proficient with inventorying data and managing paper files. Requires a general working knowledge of subsurface concepts and drilling practices. Provides attention to detail in all practices.

Key Job Responsibilities

Geology/Geophysics Support

1) Competent with following software:
* ·SMT
* ·Geographix (including lease map module)
* ·Petra
* ·Neuralog
* ·PowerPoint
* ·Excel

2) Create and maintain SMT,Petraand Geographix projects by loading:
* ·Seismic data (3-D and 2-D)
* ·Culture files
* ·Well data
* ·Formation tops and fault cuts from spreadsheet
* ·Velocity surveys
* ·Directional surveys
* ·Raster images

3) Proficient in manipulating data between software packages

4) Research data availability and collect from IHS, A2d, Drilling Info, PI/Dwights, Cambe, Sonris

5) Experienced with validating well spots and resolving location issues

6) Maintains correlation-log inventory; scanned and paper copies

7) Trouble shoot and resolve software problems

8) Locate, download and print raster logs

9) Generate stratigraphic and structural cross-sections

10) Digitize maps for drafting; provide excellence in drafting

11) Scan maps and data for storage

12) Provide central database for data inventory

13) Planimeter maps

14)Fold maps and organize files

15)Create prospect books

16)Maintain plotter and log printer (supplies & service)

17)Track invoices for Geo Department

18)Administrate support (filing, binders, labels, etc.)

Education and Experience

* College degree or 10 years experience.
* Minimum 10 years Oil and Gas experience
