Sr Database Developer

 

GoAhead Solutions has an immediate need for a Sr. Database Developer in Bellevue, WA. This would be a Six month contract to hire.

Job Description:

Background/Culture of group:

Team of 18 developers, most of which telecommute full time. The team can be characterized as down to earth, respectful, and the types of developers that enjoy if not love their craft.

Scope of Project:

Research and develop backend enhancements related to the following areas: SQL Server Transactional Replication, query optimization, and application of schema changes to live production sites.

Main Responsibilities:

-Come up to speed on product database architecture.
-Research and develop alternatives to SQL Server’s Transactional Replication with Immediate Update (deprecated by Microsoft)
-Research and develop use of covering indexes and other similar strategies to assist in optimizing various reports
-Research and document techniques to support application of schema changes to live, replicated production databases, without requiring site downtime.
-Coordinate work effort and communicate progress daily with development lead or manager.
-Work closely with Development, Operations, and QA to ensure features are implemented per requirements

Required Skills/Education Requirement:

-BS in Computer Science or related
-4 years of development or DBA experience minimum
-Excellent communication skills
-Good experience with SQL Server, query optimization, DDL
-Excellent SQL skills

Needed Skill Sets:

-Familiarity with C#
-Familiarity with SQL Server replication
-Team Foundation Server
-Object oriented design
