Sr Business Analyst

This vacancy is for a senior business analyst to work on the system and data analysis and mapping to deploy the system to North America.

Core accountabilities

* Analysis - Drive out requirements and develop comprehensive assessments and business solutions to meet them. This will require being proactive in understanding the requirement of the service consumers as well as the capabilities of the data providers.
* Communication - Provide stakeholders and change teams with clear and accurate information on current and future processes, operating models and business/systems interfaces, and the impact of proposed changes. Where possible, use formal modelling methods/techniques i.e. UML, to present ideas in a robust, clear and unambiguous fashion.
* Detailed diagnostic/analysis - Undertake diagnostic work to understand specific business issues or problems in greater depth and reveal possible solutions
* Reporting - During project work, ensure that Project Managers/Stakeholders are kept updated with issues that may affect the scope/timescales of your deliverables. On a more infrequent basis, keep Line management updated as to your progress/achievements within Projects

Supervisory responsibilities

Coaching and mentoring of junior team members.

Key clients (internal and external)

Development Manager, Project Managers, Business Managers and colleagues.

Person Requirements
The right candidate will have first class verbal and written communication skills and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Ideally, the candidate will have experience working in a data-intensive project such as a data warehouse or the implementation of a service-oriented architecture.

A key part of the role is the understanding and mapping of the data from various the various source systems that feed our strategic financial holdings service. As a wealth management organisation, this data spans many different asset classes (cash, equities, bonds, structured products, derivatives) so a strong background in multiple asset classes (particularly from a reporting perspective) is highly desirable. These systems may be settlement platforms or trading platforms.

A background involving a data warehouse project or a client reporting project would be highly advantageous.

Professional/technical experience

The role holder will ideally be able to demonstrate familiarity with the following technologies:

* XML (preferable)
* SQL (essential)
* UML (preferable)

Travel

Some travel may be required for this role, mainly to Glasgow, Geneva or London. However extensive periods of travel are not required.

Academic and professional qualifications

The candidate will be educated to degree level or above, preferably in computer science or a closely related discipline.

Language skills

The role holder will have an excellent command of English language with strong written and verbal communications to deliver against our commitment to providing a world class service and drive our dedication to the client experience.
