SQL Support Analyst -Flexibility for Night Shift Needed!

Acts as the point of escalation and resolution for technical support. Triages issues directly from monitoring systems, Internal Personnel and/or from Partners. Provides support via telephone, written correspondence, and electronic media. May act as technical lead and provide technical training, coaching, and mentoring to other engineers.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Experience working with Windows Server 2003-2008, Hyper-V
- 4 years' work related experience required
- Solid understanding of standard computer science concepts required
- Strong knowledge of personal computers, and technical proficiency in relevant operating systems, applications, and/or languages required
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to deal with the ambiguity associated with working in a fast paced and changing environment
- Ability to manage and deliver multiple project phases at the same time, and being able to manage ongoing operational issues with longer term strategic work
- Exceptional customer service, communication, problem solving, and technical writing skills required
- Must have sufficient technical depth to communicate with development and other internal organizations at a peer level
- Must have the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Associate's degree in a technical field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required

MUST BE ABLE TO DO FROM DAY 1:

OS:

- Execute a command from the command line
- Provide the output to someone without a screen shot (copy/paste)
- Locate the event logs

Networking:

- Ping a server
- Get IP address of a hostname (nslookup)
- Explain the purpose of DNS (map friendly names to IP addresses)

IIS:

- Restart IIS from a command line (IISReset) or from the GUI
- Recycle an app pool

SQL:

- Execute a SQL query
- Explain the difference between query types: Select, Update, Delete, Insert

CANDIDATE MUST BE WILLING TO WORK A ROTATING NIGHT SHIFT/DAY SHIFT SCHEDULE WITH AN ON-CALL ROTATION DURING THE WEEKEND. New hire will work days as s/he is ramping up and that s/he will be entered into the night shift rotation within 2-3 months.

- Night shifts: 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM and 11:30 PM to 7:00 AM (Monday - Friday)
- Day shifts: 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM and 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM (Monday - Friday)
- Day shift will be on-call over the weekend
- Currently, the rotation is ~2 weeks on night shift and 4 weeks on day shift
- Will have option of working from home or onsite during night shift
