Title: SQL/ETL developer
Location: Atlanta, GA
Duration: 6months + of Contract

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Contribute to logical and physical design, development, and implementation of large scale Datawarehouse
- Design, development, and enhancement of data models
- Design and development of database creation and upgrade scripts
- Work on product engineering team to develop and deploy interfaces
- Work on product engineering team to define feature specifications
- Design, develop, test ETL procedures
- Create and maintain SQL queries and routines
- Write ad-hoc queries based on schema knowledge for various application requirements
- Deal with complex data models and object relational database mapping
- Contribute to operational support documentation
- Identify and address performance bottlenecks
- Participate in code reviews

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

- Strong knowledge of Object Oriented Design and Analysis
- Experience with tera-byte scale Data warehousing
- Experience with Java and Java frameworks
- In-depth knowledge and experience with DB design concepts
- Experience with data model design for Cassandra or Hbase
- Advanced knowledge and experience with noSQL database technologies, Cassandra preferred
- Experience with Hadoop HDFS, MapReduce, Pig or Hive
- Experience with Oracle 9i/10g+, 11g+, MySQL 4+, 5+ - NO Oracle, SQL Server
- Experience with Unix/Linux including basic commands and Shell Scripting
- Extract, transformation and load (ETL) applications and techniques
- Good working knowledge of DB performance monitoring tools
- Strong documentation skills
- Excellent communication and intra-personal skills
- Self motivated and a self starter with strong ability to multitask projects/tasks effectively
- Ability to problem solve high pressure issues
- Hard working but easy-going manner

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

- B.S. Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent
- 5+ years hands-on experience in software engineering, or equivalent level of demonstrated knowledge
- 3+ years hands-on experience in noSQL database engineering

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

- M.S. Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent
- Team leadership experience
- Experience with Import/Export, SQL*Loader
- Experience with Oracle tools and technologies including ODI, Goldengate, Oracle Streams
