SQL Developer/Data Analyst - Rolling Contract to Mid 2014 - Brisbane

Reporting to the Data Stream Team Lead, the purpose of this position is to provide deep SQL Server Technical capability in order to develop, maintain and support a technical environment for data cleansing and migration which would include extensive reporting capability.

In addition to the technical environment, the role will perform two other functions:

- Comprehensive data profiling and analysis to identify data quality patterns and trends, produce statistics, develop cleansing/transformation logic and required supporting reports.
- Physically cleanse, transform or improve data sourced from existing Legacy systems as part of the preparation for migration to a new platform.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provide SQL Server Technical expertise in the form of design and development capability in order to create an effective data improvement and migration environment to support CCSP objectives
- Develop, test, maintain and support the SQL Server technical environment which will be used for data quality improvement activities and support the data migration initiative
- Develop, test, maintain and support Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) procedures
- Write and test effective data cleansing, transformation and mapping scripts in line with cleansing/migration rules/specifications
- Write reports, produce extracts and provide analytical solutions as may be required by the Data Stream
- Produce relevant technical documentation to facilitate any future RTA/Vendor handovers and in support of development work undertaken 
- Perform deep data analysis to profile data and indentify recurring patterns, anomalies or trends. Provide corresponding solutions where appropriate 
- Work in close collaboration with the Data Team Lead and Senior Business Analyst to identify technical solutions 
- Work closely with the solution provider to identify the Data Architecture and in particular a working ERD

EXPERIENCE

- 5yrs+ SQL Server experience is required. The following technical skills are considered important:
- Deep SSIS knowledge and experience essential;
- SQL Scripting essential;
- Ability to implement, configure and tweak SQL Server databases and tools;
- SSRS essential;
- SSAS and DQS beneficial;
- Experience in Datamodelling and architecture principles.
- Previous experience in data improvement and data migration projects essential
