SQL Database Developer

SQL Database Developer - £30-40k -Central London

A SQL developer with at least 5 years of SQL Server experience is required to join a small but growing database team within a successful software development business in central London.

General Responsibilities of the SQL developer:

· Design, develop, and maintain custom SQL queries, functions, stored procedures
· Help design, develop, and support data stores, such as data marts and data warehouses; perform logical and physical data modelling
· Create documentation such as design documents
· Follows processes in place for source code maintenance and deployment
· Create reports based for purposes of monitoring and analysing scheduled processes status and outputs
· Participates in peer code reviews
· Works closely with the Database Development Manager and Lead Developer to ensure quality of the delivery
· Works closely with senior stakeholders; share knowledge and collaborate effectively with other team members

Technical Requirements for the SQL developer:

· 5 or more years of hands-on development utilising Microsoft SQL Server databases
· Experience in implementing OLAP and ETL technologies, such as SSIS, and working with large datasets
· Experience with T-SQL query development, including the ability to write moderately complex and efficient queries, functions, and stored procedures utilising joined and derived tables, linked server databases, and other complex objects
· Experience with job scripting and scheduling technologies, such as DOS batch file commands
· Experience in database performance and query optimisation techniques
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
