Splunk Engineer/IT System Engineer

- The engineer will be part of a team migrating Splunk version 4 to version 6.
- Splunk at Credit Suisse consists out of 10+ components that needs to be adjusted or fully re-created.
- Engineer Splunk 6 components
- Build packages in Linux RPM Format
- Create and execute manual and/or automated tests
- Check Firewalls
- Updated/adjust current code fragments in Bash, Python and Java
- Code reviews with feedback

Education:

- Bsc/Msc in Computer Science or relevant working experience

Experience (years and area):

- 3+ years in IT Systems & Software Engineering
- Experience working in a large enterprise (Credit Suisse preferred)

Systems/programming languages/databases:

- Unix, Linux/At least one Object Oriented Language (eg .NET, JAVA, C++, etc.)/None

Technology:

- Log management know how (Splunk preferred)
- Understanding of networks, code versioning
- Experience in the area of security in general

Languages

- Very good English skills (able to negotiate/communicate with stakeholders)
- German is an advantage, but optional

Social skills

- Good communication/negotiation skills
