Following a recent reorganisation of IT support across the University, the new Information Technology function is seeking to make a number of key appointments to strengthen the team.

The team of Specialist Engineers works across the University providing high quality server and storage infrastructure to support the University's research activities. The team is also responsible for the provision of specialist computing advice and support to a wide range of researchers and their teams.

Two Specialist Linux Engineers are required to provide these services alongside other team members, working with researchers and departments to ensure that they are delivered to the highest possible standard, meeting the current and future needs of the University.

The successful candidate will have:

- A proven ability to manage a variety of Linux-based servers and services and to prioritise competing and complex work demands.
- Excellent knowledge of IT infrastructure, including storage and servers, and application of the infrastructure to meet specialist requirements.
- Strong knowledge of Linux and preferably at least one other UNIX variant.
