Specialist

An engineering and construction client has an immediate need for a Construction Engineer Specialist responsible for providing oversight of construction related activities and supporting the Project Manager, as needed in the Arlington, VA, area. This is a TEMP-TO-PERM position. Local candidates only. Proof of US citizenship required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Assist the PM with the monitoring of day-to-day construction and construction-related activities for all on-site project personnel relative to Safety, Quality, Schedule, and Contract Compliance
- Monitor construction schedule with project and contractor schedulers to keep on track and to address problems that may cause delays
- Assist the PM with ensuring that all Construction Contract reviews (design, submittals, RFIs, etc.) are reviewed and returned within the contractual timeframe
- Recommend the issuance of NCNs for those aspects of work which do not conform to the requirements of the construction contract
- Assist the PM by coordinating construction contractor's need for building systems shutdown and provide assistance in obtaining Reservation permits

REQUIREMENTS

- BS Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field
- 5+ years experience construction management work experience
- Knowledge of and ability to interpret building codes and OSHA
- Familiarity with Design Build contracts and with scheduling software such as Primavera or Microsoft Project desired
