My client is currently looking for a Spares Buyer to source and purchase parts as required for stock, workshop repairs and live service calls. Candidates need good negotiation skills, basic knowledge of computers and peripherals, experience with Excel and ideally databases. Reporting to the purchasing manager, the spares buyer is responsible for the sourcing of parts through preferred suppliers to fulfil requirements for stock and service calls, to place purchase orders on suppliers and to use the in-house database - MXP (training will be provided) to check stock levels, accurately process orders and update internal documents. All applicants must be highly motivated with the ability to work in a team, work under pressure and have good telephone skills. Beneficial but not essential is experience working in either a Sourcing, procurement, purchasing, stock ordering, distribution, warehouse or logistics environment. This will be a temporary position for approximately 3 to 6 months with the view to become a permanent role based in Northampton.
