Solvency II Operational Risk Manager

OPERATIONAL RISK MANANGER - SOLVENCY II

We currently have an exciting new opportunity to work for one of the largest Insurance companies in the UK as an operational risk manager, We are looking for a contractor who is currently working within the Financial services industry and looking to get involved with helping develop, support and provide over sight to the companies operational risk framework.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Provide expert support, oversight and challenge, to the implementation and execution of the ORM policies, standards, methodologies and tools across the Corporate Centre, ensuring compliance with the Group Standard and UK Operational Risk Policy
- Support the UK OpsRisk Manager in the co-ordination of Framework delivery across the Operating Companies
- Maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders within the Corporate Centre
- Developing and embedding the use of Key Risk Indicators across the Corporate Centre
- Lead the escalation process for the Corporate Centre, to ensure that events are communicated to senior management, on a timely basis, and that issues and action plans are developed by the appropriate parties
- Carry out Operational Risk training across the Corporate Centre
- Help embed Solvency II into all aspects of the management of Operational Risk

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOUR

ESSENTIAL:

- Prior experience in operational risk management or audit within financial services
- Excellent stakeholder management, relationship building, and communication skills to influence the strategic direction and implementation of Operational Risk developments
- Good analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to manage a number of tasks simultaneously
- Good understanding of FSA regulations and expectations
- The ability to support the development of Risk and Control champions within the relevant areas through training and knowledge sharing
- Good working knowledge of Solvency II and its implications for Ops Risk Management
- Experience of Finance and IT functions
