Solution Test Engineer

Our client is urgently looking for Solution Test Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. The role may start in the next few weeks and we looking to arrange interviews for suitable candidates week of 12th August.

The ideal candidate will have high level of experience with Unix and Solaris test environments and have worked with the wireless telecommunications industry.

The role will be to test and verify end-to-end mobile network solutions and ensure that all SLA's are met whilst maintaining quality standards for deployment in the live network. This position performs project testing to ensure the effective planning and execution of test cases in collaboration with the test team and other team members on the project. The Solution Test Engineer handles test planning activities to generate modular test cases and suites for execution and reuse with other test engineers within the business unit and larger delivery teams across projects to achieve repeatable, functional and non-functional testing, reducing both risk and cost.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

- Responsible for phases in the test life cycle and for end-to-end solution tests
- Perform test planning, writing and executing test plans and producing relevant test documentation
- Design and execute test cases, identifying areas of risk
- Perform defect analysis, recording and reporting as appropriate
- Perform and progress manual and automated test cases
- Provide effective defect reporting, management and progression to ensure effective replication, resolution and retesting of defects
- Ensure that testing is performed as prescribed and agreed and that quality standards are met and adhered to
- Understand and implement test management methodologies and appropriate documented quality gate processes
- Create test solutions that can be replicated and leveraged across multiple clients
- Ensure that knowledge management within the test team is developed and maintained

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

- Minimum five years' hands-on professional test experience
- Minimum five years' experience in the telecommunications industry, with at least three years' experience in the area of end-to-end functional, non-functional and regression testing of next-generation network technologies for mobile service providers
- Experience in planning, writing and executing test plans, maintaining and evolving test sets and tools to enable functional low-level and distributed testing across multiple products and technologies
- Proven skills in hands-on network and application testing
- Experience with writing and reviewing test documentation, defining test scenarios
- Track record of successful deliveries within telecom projects
- Client-facing experience on multiple small, medium and large projects
- Excellent knowledge of test management tools
- Strong knowledge of mobile telecom infrastructure and Internet technologies
- Solid understanding of voice, data and video networking applications
- Knowledge of system integration practices
- UAT experience
- Interpersonal, analytical and reporting skills
- Experience with project life cycle and best practice guidelines
- Ability to operate well in a Matrix-managed organization
- Strong communicator with excellent presentation and documentation skills
- Attention to detail and drive to ensure completion of  tasks
