Our client, a world banking firm, is currently recruiting for a digital solution design analyst, for a contract position with a high possibility for extension or to go permanent, based in Edinburgh.

Background:

The Solution Design team is a design practice that places the customer at the centre of every stage of the process from the start of an idea. The process brings together customer insight, business processes and technology opportunities to create great experiences for customers across all touch points of the Bank, including channels, conversations, services and products. Customer input, co-creation and prototyping is prioritised to deliver experiences and processes that customers want to engage with, are simple and easy to use and are empowering.

We are looking for a number experienced designers to work across a number of strategic portfolios of investment eg products, mortgages as well as the mandatory agenda. The designers will be working with a range of permanent resource, other day rate contractors and managed service providers eg Accenture and will be integrated into the delivery teams.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESmandatory supporting the delivery of the end to end design for an initiative required to realise the Bank's strategic objectives or mandatory obligations.

Potential candidates should be able to demonstrate experience/evidence of:

- Designing/supporting customer centric solutions in a banking environment, ensuring the design blueprint aligns to customer, business and staff outcomes
- Defining project objectives, scope and overall approach to requirements analysis and solution design
- Defining and documenting detailed business target operating models for business functions
- An ability to understand business processes and systems functionality to design improved business solutions ("as - is" vs "to - be" processes)
- Documenting and analysing organisation design from a people perspective, articulating what needs to change
- Defining business requirements in a banking context together with experience of "user experience" driven approaches when gathering requirements and running workshops
- Working collaboratively with business and technical architecture teams to shape and document customer journeys; customer, business and staff outcomes
- Use concepts such as user journeys, stories and epics to capture and model requirements
- Developing business cases
- Ability to interpret financial data using spread sheets
- Project delivery skills in design, focusing on interfacing into delivery teams; understanding testing requirements etc
- Strong presentation skills - able to present complex ideas in a simple way to a diverse range of stakeholders
- Strong communication skills - able to adapt style and content appropriately for the audience
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to work with cross-site teams
- Experience of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access), MS Project and PlanView
- Database management and utilisation to support analysis
- An agile mind-set and philosophy
- Exposure to or direct involvement of agile development environments, including formulation of user stories and development sprints
- Familiarity with Agile Development methodology eg SCRUM; Sprints; Planning Poker
- Specific exposure to and experience of mobile and digital projects and services
- Mobile/digital awareness is key together with a "first adopter" mind-set ie they are willing to try new products and services and believe technology can be an enabler; they run their lives digitally eg their preferred way to shop online/via their mobile

Core criteria:

1) Previous experience of working within banking

2) Knowledge of design methodology - highly desirable

3) An ability to understand business processes and systems functionality to design improved business solutions ("as - is" vs "to - be" processes)

4) Familiarity with Agile Development methodology eg SCRUM; Sprints; Planning Poker

5) Digital background
