Solution Architect

Background
Capita are recruiting for a Solution architect to join a central government client on a contract basis. This role is based in Taunton. This is an SC Cleared position and preference may be given to candidates who already hold this clearance.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
* The delivery of SOA solutions under the Architectural Framework. The delivery of key Architectural Artefacts. To work collaboratively with colleagues across the enterprise [Business/PMO/PM/Analysts/IMT]. To identify options, costs, issues and risks for business stakeholders and make recommendations. To design solutions and assist in implementing solutions. The mentoring and guiding less experienced technical staff. To coordinate SOA implementation and modification activities with delivery managers. To assist in the communication of the architecture process, its outcome, business benefits and ongoing management.

Skills/Experience Required
* Experience of delivering Service Orientated Architecture design.
* Excellent inter-personal/communication/influencing skills.
* Experience providing consultancy to the business, designing and monitoring complex architectures and delivering architectural solutions to solve business requirements and concerns.
* Strong hands-on implementation skills in contemporary technologies and methodologies, comfortable working at the detailed level in complex technical environments.
* Experience of assessing and managing architectural risk, incorporating risk mitigations into solution architecture deliverables and artefacts.
* Experience in managing architectural change control to in-flight solutions.
* Experience working to agile methodologies.
* Experience of integrating third party COTS and third party developed solutions into an existing architecture.
* Modelling processes, systems, data and infrastructure in UML and or other modelling language.
* Experience of implementing against an architectural framework such as TOGAF, MODAF or Zachman.
* Experience of working within ITIL (ISO/IEC 20000) and ISO9000 environments.
