Software Test Engineer Network Switches

Our client is a HUGELY POPULAR COMPUTER HARDWARE MANUFACTURER seeking qualified Software Test Engineers for NETWORK SWITCH PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT. These candidates will provide L2/L3 functionality and Open Flow support.

OVERVIEW:

- Help develop a system level test plan
- Define test cases
- Develop test scripts
- Perform manual and automated testing
- Analyze test results
- Help with issue investigation and resolution

REQUIREMENTS:

- 5-7 years' experience (for Mid-Level Engineers) OR 10+ years' experience (Senior Engineer)
- Strong IP Networking background, including extensive experience with Layer 2 (VLANs, network switch operation and functionality, Spanning Tree) and Layer 3 (Packet Routing) switching along with sound knowledge of routing protocols such as OSPF, RIP, and BGP
- Solid programming experience in Perl and C languages
- Some software development preferred, mostly be around test script development
- Test Plan, Test Case, and Test Script development experience
- Strong testing and troubleshooting/debugging skills
- Experience using Linux and Ixia/Spirent test equipment
- Self-motivation and ability to function in an unstructured environment, with minimum supervision and guidance
- Organized and detail oriented, taking the initiative to investigate and document anything that doesn't seem right in the product behavior
- Interest in testing network components
