Software Technician

OUR CLIENT IS A HUGELY POPULAR COMPUTER MANUFACTURING COMPANY SEEKING A QUALIFIED SOFTWARE TECHNICIAN TO HELP OFFSET SOME OF THE WORKLOAD FOR THEIR DEVELOPMENT TEAM. The Software Tech will monitor, support, and maintain the health of the team's Continuous Integration Environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Monitor health of Servers and test clients through various reporting pages and scripts
- Debug and resolve test clients whenever failures are detected
- Work with SAS to repair/replace defective systems in client pool
- Increase client machine pool through physical and virtual machines to increase test coverage of platforms being supported by the team
- Monitor health and performance of team's dashboard system.
- Increase test coverage in WHQL, API captures, and performance tests
- Narrow down regressions caught by extended test
- Develop script to automatically reboot silicon machine using the IP enabled power strip
- Develop scripts to automate Virtual Machine bring-up in simulation environments
- Develop scripts to simplify test management (adding/removing/blocking tests from test request files)
- Validate Post-Si machines order by team to ensure functionality prior to distribution
- Work with SAS to upgrade BIOS
- Install OS from image and ready system for testing
- Generate Game Performance Data to track performance improvements
- Run and monitor game performance across selected hardware and report results on a weekly basis.
- Opportunistically automate workflow to reduce manual steps in process
- Help with Developer Productivity items

REQUIREMENTS:

- Strong experience and skills in Scripting languages: Python, Perl, JavaScript, and/or PowerShell
- Proficiency in Windows and Fedora Linux OS
- Experience deploying/configuring Windows and Fedora Client systems to environments
- Strong communication skills to produce clear and coherent reports
- Problem solving/experience to debug regressions in driver and environment preferred
- C/C++ development or equivalent preferred
