Software Quality Assurance Engineer Job

SOFTWARE QUALITY ASSURANCE (QA) ENGINEER - ENTRY needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in Foster City, CA.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Completing development requirements, test plans, and executing user testing for Digital and Disc Publishing Operations. Reporting to the Manager
- Determines operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements for digital and disk games for third party vendors.
- Recommends solutions by identifying problems with end users and developing improved procedures
- Documents required fixes, enhancements, or new functionality for systems with development team and end users
- Leads weekly meetings with functional users and development teams to discuss status ongoing projects, track development and UAT progress, and address open issues
- Monitors project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions
- Analyzes and understands each project's environment, architecture, and interdependencies to determine and apply appropriate test methodologies and cases relative to applications being tested
- Writes effective plans and test cases based on functional, design and requirements specification
- Executes testing and records results: uses appropriate quality control tools and process to uncover defects and discover the state of the code; analyzes and records testing results and defects
- Leads end users in user acceptance testing when required
- Works closely with development team to prioritize, track, and resolve issues for retesting
- Maintains test execution timeline with the larger project plan, reports potential issues or conflicts in test resources Qualifications

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Zero to three (0 - 3) years of related experience.
- Experience in setting up users and maintaining projects in JIRA test tracking software
- Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with ability to interact with individuals at all levels
- Bachelor Degree or equivalent with at least three (3) years of experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with system and process.
- Digital Publishing, Software Supply Chain, and general software testing methodologies
- Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, and documentation skills.
- Strong ability to learn procedures within a system process, create test plans for new functionality, and execute testing documentation.
- Experience planning and execution of system and process testing.
- Systems development and planning; including systems requirement gathering and analysis, user testing, and training development.
