A Software Integration Engineer is required to join the Chassis Electronics department. Long-term contract and fantastic opportunity to work with the UK's biggest Automotive employer.

SCS/ePAS/Magneride/TPMS Software Integration Project Lead Chassis Electronics

This vacancy is within the Chassis Electronics department of Electrical Engineering. The Chassis Electronics department is one of 4 Core Engineering areas of Electrical Engineering responsible for the Engineering Design and Release of Electrical and Electronic control systems supporting key Chassis hardware applications as per below

In achieving the above the department has a close working relationship with Chassis Engineering and includes management of a significant offshore based team.

- Vehicle Dynamic Systems (I):

Control Engineering for Air Suspension, Active Roll Control, Continuous Variable Damping, ACC, Deployable Rear Spoiler & Front Lift

- Vehicle Dynamic Systems (II):

Control Engineering for Terrain Response, Driveline & Low Level Software, PMS,

- Sensing & HIL:

Hardware/Software simulation testing, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System & Brake/Clutch mechanical Switches

- Brakes Electronics:

Electrical System integration of the Anti-Lock Braking System, RSC Software design

- Steering & Park Brake:

Power Steering, Electric Park Brake, Magneride & 3rd Party software Integration

*Skills Required*

Chassis Electronics are looking for an experienced and highly motivated project leader to co-ordinate both inhouse and external software build activities and the releases of software and control systems to the vehicle programmes. This will involve running regular internal team meetings, and regular reporting to Functional Group Leader and liaison with Programme Module Leader, Electrical/Chassis System Owners, Electrical Integration Team, and the ODEC software build team.

Tasks Include:

- Interact with the Electrical Programmes group to establish timescales and deliverables in line with the JLR PCDS process.
- Working with the system and controls engineers and local and offshore software build teams to ensure timely delivery of software and hardware requirements, test plans and releases according to gateways.
- Define appropriate organisation and process for the project reviews (meeting structure, agenda, attendees) including Supplier, Finance, Purchasing and Manufacturing representation where required.
- Co-ordination of release activities with the ECU supplier and internal customers (chassis).
- Creating and managing timing plans and FIPs to support team deliverables and software integration activities, and supporting functional teams in the creation and maintenance of commodity plans.
- Management of local and company metrics and requirements cascade (AIMS, eFDVS/RMDV, Software Development Metrics).
- Manage timely investigation and closure of problems including appropriate escalation and reporting of issues, and build and launch support where required.
- Support process improvement and compliance activities for in-house software delivery process, including performing lessons learned activities to drive continuous improvement into local processes and standards.

*Experience Required*

- Highly motivated and self-starting individual with effective leadership and influencing skills.
- Strong organisational, project management and communication skills essential.
- Knowledge of software development and integration processes throughout the life cycle.
- Thorough understanding of system engineering principles throughout the 'V' delivery cycle.
- MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), and Google Docs.
- MS Project or similar project management tools.
- UK driving license.
- Applicants must be educated to degree level in a relevant subject.
