Software Features Validation Engineer

Candidate will develop test cases given specifics of the software functionality. S/He will set up and maintain test platforms/lab equipment, debug and resolve hardware issues, and maintain automated the software build process. Candidate will also execute test cases for BATs, functional and regression testing, and update results in Test Management system. In case of any issues, candidate needs to file bugs in the bug tracking database and assist customers/development team to reproduce issues and verify fixes.

REQUIRED SKILLS

- Ability to develop good understanding of software features
- Ability to develop positive and negative test cases anticipating different usage scenarios given details of the software feature
- Execute test cases and document results precisely
- Perform simple debugging process and analyze source of problems when they occur
- Ability to create and maintain scripts using Perl, PowerShell, Python, etc.
- Familiarity with Windows/Linux OS installation and configuration, VM configuration
- Ability to setup PC systems and resolve hardware issues
- Ability to setup simple networks involving 3-5 machines
- Ability to identify and articulate bugs/issues through email/bug filing tools such as Clearquest

NICE TO HAVE

- Ability to automate testing process
- Past experience with Windows 8 metro or other phone/tablet software testing experience
