Software Engineer - Java

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a SOFTWARE ENGINEER - JAVA to join our client in the Clayton, Missouri area.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

- The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for developing prototypes and performing complex application coding and programming. This position interprets end-user business requirements to develop and/or modify technical design specifications for off-the-shelf and/or custom-developed applications.
- The Senior Software Engineer also analyzes and reviews software requirements to determine feasibility of a design within time and cost restraints. In addition, this position performs unit and integration testing and assists with developing unit test scripts.
- The Senior Software Engineer provides instruction and guidance to less senior team members on new tasks and assignments.
- The candidate will be responsible for working with Project Managers and Software Engineers to implement new functionality and modifications, meeting all development, PII and PCI security standards. The ideal candidate must be able to work in a fast paced, production environment and have the ability to handle multiple tasks. In addition, the candidate must be a self-motivated and eager to learn new business and technical concepts.
- This person will analyze, design, develop, test, maintain, document and install standalone and Client Server software applications using Java, Groovy, and Mule.
- Code and successfully perform unit and integration testing of software to ensure proper and efficient execution as well as compliance to the business and technical requirements.
- Resolve in a timely manner problems that arise with existing production applications to ensure the efficient and proper functioning of application components.
- Participate in acceptance testing to ensure client/user needs are met.
- Migrate applications to quality assurance and/or the production environment, or perform quality assurance as necessary.
- Work with Managers and team members to develop to development standards.
- Have minimal return work as a result of misunderstanding assigned tasks, communicating with users, and exercising appropriate judgment between what is requested and what is feasible .

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred.
- Collect high-level requirements from multiple functional teams and convert them into design documents.
- Five (5+) years of experience in JAVA programming language.
- Three (3+) years of experience in SOA and/or Service development.
- Two (2+) years of experience with the Spring Framework.
- One (1+) year of Scripting language experience (Groovy, Ruby, Python).
- Experience in Full life cycle development and end-to-end testing, including test automation.
- Two (2+) years of SOAP UI experience and web services testing.
- Experience with JUnit testing framework.
- Proficient knowledge of NT/Unix operating systems.
- Must have good communication skills.
- Self-Motivated.
- Ability to learn new business and technical concepts.
- Must be able to effectively communicate to various levels of management and with people with varying technical knowledge.

PREFERRED JOB SKILLS/CERTIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE:

- Five (5+) years of experience in Oracle DB and PL/SQL programming.
- Experience with ESBs like Mule.
- Experience with the Altova MissionKit (XmlSpy, MapForce and StyleVision) development suite.
- Experience with NoSQL databases such as Mongo DB/Couchbase.
