Software Engineer - Embedded C - Aviation

Software Engineer required for a leading global Aviation Company based in Cheltenham to support the development of a Remote Interface Unit product by performing full software life cycle activities and timely sample-checking activities to ensure that outsourced activities are being performed to an acceptable standard. Seeking experienced Embedded C Software Engineers with experience of working to safety critical standards (DO178B highly desirable).

KEY ACTIVITIES:

- Full software life cycle; requirements capture, analysis and management throughout the full life cycle, design, implementation, code scrutiny, module testing, integration testing, formal verification/reviews and documentation
- Coding and Implementation of safety-critical software in C
- Development to DO-178B standards
- Primary activities will involve Software Module Testing - right side of the V activities
- Developing LDRA Test Cases and running them
- Resolving issues in requirements, design and/or implementation

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

- Full Software Lifecycle Development experience
- Embedded C
- Experience of creation and review of documentation to support DO178B Level A or similar safety critical application development/high integrity environment
- Good understanding of configuration control/management
- Ability to work independently
- Strong communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Flexible, hard working and professional attitude
- Proactive, personable and innovative
- Past experience of developing Aerospace Display/Power/Avionic Systems

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:

- Experience of LDRA test bed for C
- Communication protocols, ARINC Protocols (429/661/664)
- Serena Dimensions configuration management tool
- Experience of WindRiver Workbench
- Experience of creation and review of documentation to support DO178b level A projects
- Aerospace software design
- Experience of Power PC processors
- DOORS
