The successful candidate will be an experienced software engineer with broad life-cycle development experience who is able to work within a small team or as a sole developer. This is a hands-on development role which will require both low level (device driver) and high level application development skills. When required, the successful candidate will also be expected to perform a supervisory role acting as a team leader.

Responsibilities and Duties
The successful candidate will be expected to carry out activities covering the full software life-cycle development:
* Requirements analysis/definition (using DOORS and/or Artisan Studio)
* Software Design (SysML/UML using Artisan Studio)
* Coding (Embedded C and some assembly)
* Debugging/Integration (using in circuit emulators)
* Formal Testing - unit, integration & software/system testing (using test tools, where appropriate)
* Requirement & Verification Traceability
* Software documentation and review activities
* Software maintenance e.g. perform fault investigation
* Configuration Management activities
* Plus other non specific software engineering activities as required.

Qualificationsbe able to plan and estimate tasks
* Self-motivated and the ability to work without supervision to complete tasks to the required level of quality
* Good communication skills; liaison with internal and external customers
