Software Engineer/Developer with excellent Cobol and DB2 experience wanted for our Zurich based client in the banking sector.
YOUR EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
- Several years' experience designing and programming with Cobol and DB2 in a large-scale multinational bank
- Expertise in applying quality assurance to deliveries and excelling at delivering stable software
- Deep knowledge of distributed, highly segregated architectures
- Mastery of analytical, problem-solving and synthesizing skills
- Excellent collaborative skills with the desire to interact with business analysts, testers and business colleagues if necessary
- Comfortable with working both independently and in a team-oriented environment
- Languages: fluent English both written and spoken, additional German skills are considered an advantage
YOUR TASKS:
- Developing software components as defined by the systems development life cycle
- Working in the regulatory tax team
- Testing unit and integration of components for integration into larger subsystems
- Supporting the Software Component Manager (SCM) in resolving high-priority defects and deploying solutions to production systems
- Ensuring that produced code is secure, stable and operation prior to handover to the SCM
- Managing versions of software artifacts
