You are an enthusiast software professional with hands-on experience in developing state-of-the-art software applications. You are familiar with the latest ideas on and the best practices of modern web-based software designs, focusing on quality of design and optimal user experience. Required skills and technologies

5+ years of software engineering hands-on experience, Apache web server, HTML5, REST, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, XAMPP, software version control strategies (esp. SVN) in a multi-branching context, automatic build and verification environments such as Hudson (or similar), working with IDEs (Eclipse, IntelliJ, etc.), working in ALM environments, OO software paradigms, awareness of and adhering to best practices on software structuring/packaging/deployment.

Role and responsibilities

You are a member of an applied research team to work on the OCTO+ project. In this project you will be responsible for developing, implementing and testing the "Design Framework", a software tool that supports system architects with the design of complex high-tech systems in a multidisciplinary and multiuser context.

Within the team you will be assigned the ownership of the tool's software implementation, where you are expected to contribute to its further professionalization. In particular, you will design, code and document the software, based on roadmap requirements, user change request, and user reported defects. This includes setting up and maintaining an automated regression test suite.

Your will work closely with your fellow team members to elaborate the required decisions on application, software design, and functional and non-functional needs.
