Software Engineer

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a SOFTWARE ENGINEER to join our client in Auburn Hills, MI.

Job Responsibilities:
- Develop software requirements for NAFTA on board diagnostics, especially communication functions.
- Bridge between Conti Regensburg and Detroit to help define OBD requirements.
- Software prototyping following production standard. Improve knowledge and skills through training.
- Coordinate and organize the flow of information between Detroit, Stuttgart, and Conti Regensburg.
- Planning and providing updates of work status.
- Provide input and recommendations into current working teams.
- Other activities as necessary/assigned.

Job Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in computer/electrical engineering with two (2+) years of directly applicable software engineering experience.
- Advanced technical degree.
- Two (2+) years of directly applicable software engineering experience.
- Practical experience with CAN, J1939 and UDS.
- Understand Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow and Targetlink.
- Experience identifying and solving the root cause of complex problems.
- Practical experience with Embedded software architecture for automobile industry.
- Good communication skills.
- German language skills helpful.
- Knowledge about EPA and CARB legislations.
- Experience with diagnostic system for automotive industry Microcontroller architecture knowledge.
- Knowledge of Continental's software architecture (ACM and MCM).
- Knowledge of European diagnostic legislation.
- Background in trucking or automotive.
- Fluent in German/willingness to learn German.
