The Electro-Optics Center (EOC) was created in 1999 under a cooperative agreement with the Office of Naval Research (ONR) and managed by XYZ. The EOC and its alliance of over 400 companies, university and government laboratories serve to nurture the development of electro-optic materials, components, and transition successful technologies needed for the advancement of the nation's defense capabilities. The EOC is a hybrid between the best components of a university and those of private industry. This relationship allows us to access to the university's researchers and scientists, its state-of-the-art facilities and leading edge research. EOC's Systems Engineering Division has an immediate need for a highly qualified and experienced individual to lead/support software projects for a variety of defense related imaging and weapons programs. Candidates would be accountable for the software life cycle, from requirements generation and analysis through implementation and support and include typical activities such as the development of custom GUIs, image processing software, and automated test system software and algorithms. Candidate responsibilities to include: coding/programming in C/C++/C# as well as Lab View/Lab/Windows (design-code-test-debug-deliver), algorithm development, model and simulation development, Embedded programming skills, working knowledge of Java and Linux, experience developing documentation such as design documents/test plans/specifications/interface control documents/technical reports, and software cost estimating and scheduling skills. The ability to manipulate existing modelling and simulation tools such as NVTherm and ModTran, familiarity with standards such as JAUS and Stanag 4586, and working knowledge of CUDA are a plus.

This position typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science (Master's Degree preferred), and minimum of five (5) years work related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The individual must possess strong programming skills in C/C++/C#, strong written and communication skills, ability to work in a team environment, experience with complex systems comprised of both hardware and software, and flexibility to contribute to tasks outside their responsibilities. Defense Department contracting and Government electronics industry experience is a plus. Must be a US citizen to apply.
