Software Development Test Engineer

Our client is impacting the world with new technology that comes out at a rapid pace, revolutionizing the way tablets are made and how people read books. As a SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT TEST ENGINEER you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive, design and develop innovative consumer products across all the hottest mobile and computing platforms in the industry!

We need you to be innovative, have an entrepreneur's approach and use creative solutions with the work you do on a daily basis. This position is unique because you will be exposed to a wide assortment of different popular phones built on the Android OS, as well as additional bestselling mobile devices.

You must be proactive, responsive, and flexible to be able to work effectively in a fun, fast-paced dynamic team environment. You will need to be creative in your approach to automate software. You must be innovative, self-directed, and understand quality assurance procedures and methodologies. As a SDET, you will develop, execute and maintain software and tools to test the product.

You should have a combination of solid in-depth knowledge of Quality Assurance, solid understanding of computer science principles, as well as knowledge of how to architect software for maximum longevity. The test software you will build should expose API defects in production level code as well as defects at the component and feature and UI integration level. The tools you will develop will improve QA efficiencies across the various tablet platforms. You will work directly with Developers, QA Engineers, Product Managers, and Technical Program Managers to ensure proper development and QA of our applications and platforms. You will also create, maintain and extend the test automation test framework.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar technical field
- 3+ years of experience as a Developer, QA Engineer, or SDET
- 3+ years of expertise in an Object Oriented programming language
- Ability to programmatically test any software product and develop automation for it
- Familiarity with Visual Studio, Eclipse IDE or logical equivalent
- Comfort and familiarity with common data structures, algorithms and collections
- Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical and problem solving skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with open source tools and resources
- Practical coding experience on a mobile platform
- Experience with the Android OS, SDK, and developer/QA tools
- Automation architecture development and/or maintenance experience
- Track record of improving QA efficiency through test automation and tools
- Test tools design and development

This contract position is expected to be 9 months in duration.
