As a Software Development Engineer for Web Services Infrastructure Team, you will provide diagnostics and dashboards that enable other SDEs and fleet owners to manage and optimize their hardware requests, fleet composition and scale for their services. You will work with principal engineers to innovate ways to measure utilization of large and small fleets and build tools that analyze and provide insight into this rich data. You will identify ways to analyze production fleets and traffic in order to identify their scaling limitations, as well as make optimization recommendations. A Software Developer in this role will own delivery of features and services from beginning to end. You will design, implement, launch, and support your ideas. Your input into every part of the feature, from user interface to the data layer, is not only desired but also critical to the delivery process. In this flat hierarchy and fast-moving environment, you have the ability to turn your ideas into real-world products that customers use every day.

REQUIREMENTS:

- 3+ years of software development experience
- Strong design and coding skills in Ruby on Rails and Java on Unix Platforms
- Web development expertise (Proficiency in Ruby, JavaScript)
- Strong User Interface design skills
- Experience building high-performance, highly-available and scalable systems
- Aptitude to analyze data while developing solutions to problems
- Innovative, flexible and self-directed disposition
- Must be able to analyze problems and solve them creatively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field

PREFERRED:

- Familiarity with SQL and relational databases
- Experience in data analysis using statistical methods

This contract position is expected to be 3 months in duration.
