Our client is an inventive research and development company that designs and engineers high-profile devices like the Kindle family of products. They have worked to produce best-selling tablets with breakthrough hardware technology as well as e-readers that have revolutionized reading. What will you help us create?

JOB OVERVIEW:
- The Device Tracking team is looking for an experienced hands-on software developer to continue development and support on our internal device tracking and distribution system. They need an SDE who can move fast, is capable of breaking down and solving complex problems, and has a strong will to get things done. You'll work on real world problems affecting users on a global scale, own the system end to end, and influence the direction of the technology.
- You will have opportunities to work on both Front End (Website) and Back End (Services) and interact with business stakeholders directly. In addition, successful candidates will be able to balance development responsibilities while participating in cross functional team efforts.
- This position is based in Cupertino but there will be travel to Seattle and possibly international locations if needed.

Job Responsibilities:
- Design, perform and deep dive on performance issues - performance testing strategy, execution, analysis of the results and recommendations for performance improvements.
- Balance sustaining and stability issues for a 24x7 environment with new development.
- Deep dive on existing technical issues and provide comprehensive solutions.
- Continue development on a scalable platform that integrates with other systems in the company.

Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or related technical discipline.
- Seven (7) plus years of experience in Java, Ruby, J2EE and related web technologies.
- Three (3) plus years of experience in Hibernate and Spring frameworks.
- Two (2) plus years of experience with Oracle databases.
- Individuals interested in this position should have experience in building high-performance, reliable systems in a complex, multi-tiered, distributed environment (Service Oriented Architecture).
- The ideal candidate will have experience working with Linux, Java, relational databases, and distributed computing technologies.

Preferred Job Skills/Experience/Knowledge:
- Master's degree
- Past experience designing asset tracking, inventory management, or related tools.
- Deal well with ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to think abstractly.
- Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions.
