Software Development Engineer

The team is looking for an experienced software engineer/developer to lead cross platform mobile apps development in the social space. The new Mobile Social team will focus on: a) Experimenting with social features on all our heavily used mobile apps on mobile web, iOS, Android and other platforms; b) Prototyping unique social apps that leverage the social nature of mobile devices. The team will work closely with the engineering teams at Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and internal Mobile Shopping Team to build deeper integrations with the social platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

- Participate in the full development life cycle, working within broadly defined parameters
- Own the delivery of an entire piece of mobile application, and serve as a technical lead on small to midsize complex projects
- Manage and execute against project plans and delivery commitments
- Work closely with senior engineers to develop the best technical design and approach for new product development
- Design and define the interactions between various systems or components
- Create and execute appropriate quality plans, project plans, test strategies and processes for development activities in concert with business and project management efforts

Basic Qualifications

- Master's degree or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, team player
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- 2-5 years experience in mobile software development
- Familiarity with common mobile platforms such as iOS, Android, and mobile web
- Expertise in data structures, complex algorithms, OOP

Preferred Qualifications

- Expert level JavaScript and JQuery programming skills
- Deep understanding and experience with JQueryMobile or Sencha Touch
- Experience with HTML5 and CSS3
- Experience in cross platform mobile app development to cater to iOS & Android
- Experience in social apps development, and familiarity with Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest APIs.
- Experience in development of distributed/scalable systems and high-volume transaction applications
