Proteus Europe is searching for a Software Developer for our client based in Brussels, Belgium
Our Client:-
Our client's headquarters are located in the beautiful and historic city of Brussels. They are in the Aviation Sector and are at the forefront of their field. The company is a Pan-European intergovernmental organisation committed to building, together with its partners, a Single European Sky that will deliver the air traffic management (ATM) performance required for the twenty-first century and beyond. Working with 41 member states of greater Europe and beyond including the Republics of Georgia and Armenia and the Ukraine our client brings a pool of talent from all over Europe into one area, to work together to build the future of European airspace. Your New role:-
For one of their development teams, they are now looking for a Software Developer.You will participate within the team in the production of the software design, the development activities and in the implementation of unit and system testing.
Responsibilities include the design and implementation of application software, with special care for availability, maintainability, performance and reliability aspects. The project scope encompasses evolution of existing applications mainly written in Ada (including new functionality and implementation of new components).
Although Ada knowledge is a big asset for this position, knowledge of in depth workings of a computer and complex software is more important. Ability to understand how to efficiently use computer resources is more important than knowledge of Ada syntax. Ability to work on complex problems and big programs is mandatory. If you can demonstrate this ability then an Ada training course will be set up if needed.
Your Skills and experience:-
General context:
- Development, maintenance and support of critical systems.
- Expected activities:
1. Detailed software design
2. Implementation (design, code and test) in Ada and Unix Shell Scripting
3. Participate in test automation preparation and implementation
4. Write documentation mainly of technical nature
5. Peer code reviews
6. Participate to third level on-call services (with remote connection) as from the second year.
Must have's:
- Good understanding of the low level programming algorithms and logic.
- Knowledge of the functioning of computer resources.
- C++
- Linx/Unix
