Software Developer

This is a Front End web developer position. Reporting to the User Experience and Interaction Design Supervisor, this position will develop and manage interactive web experiences for consumer facing websites.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

- Working with digital marketing and user experience leaders, plan, architect, and manage the Front End build of websites supporting online acquisition, E-commerce, and online retention activities.
- Turn wireframes and high-fidelity mock-ups into pixel-perfect responsive online experiences.
- Implement flexible, modern Front End solutions that are adaptable and easily changed through design iteration, A/B and multivariate testing.
- Connect websites to APIs and web services for data retrieval, submission, and validation.
- Monitor site performance and proactively plan and deploy enhancements that optimize websites.

SKILLS:

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

- BA/BS in Interaction Design, Web Design, Software Development, or related field.
- At least 7-10 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Mastery of HTML and CSS; Must be able to troubleshoot user interface problems within existing code, create and modify theme templates, and develop new code without assistance of an editor.
- Significant experience working with HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design, including frameworks such as bootstrap, HTML5 Boilerplate and Foundation.
- Experience writing custom JavaScript as well as leveraging popular JavaScript libraries such as jQuery and Prototype.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with demonstrated ability to create pixel-perfect web experiences.
- Experience with custom theme building in CMS platforms such as WordPress or Drupal.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced corporate environment.
- High level of professional polish - comfortable working independently with various stakeholders of all levels across the organization, running demonstrations of in-progress builds, and prioritizing future technical needs on our websites with IT stakeholders.
- Firm grasp of building websites that adhere to SEO and SEM best practices.
- Experience using web analytic data to identify website performance gaps a plus.
- The successful candidate will have several years of experience writing custom (X)HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with significant experience in writing semantic, modular Front End code using HTML5, CSS3, and W3C coding practices.
- Strong preference is given to candidates demonstrating working knowledge of mobile first and future friendly design.
- Successful candidates will be solution oriented, collaborative individuals, with demonstrated success developing interactive websites that meet (or exceed) business expectations.
