Software Design Engineer Web Services

Our high-visibility client is building a whole new set of experiences around learning and education and needs new team members to help in that effort. This is an opportunity with a startup-like, mostly agile development environment with rapid prototyping, getting customer feedback and turning that around into products.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Act as the subject matter expert in designing, building and managing large scale, highly performant web services
- Sustain high productivity by creating quick prototypes and following up with production-grade implementations
- Execute high-quality features in a timely fashion
- Participate in design and code reviews - help maintain high bug bar for services design and implementation across the team
- Work effectively across the team to bring up the level of expertise in web services technologies

QUALIFICATIONS:

- 5+ years of proven experience in designing, developing and shipping production quality web based software and services
- Proven record of managing high volume services on the Internet and a strong background involved in developing software products and services
- Expert knowledge in SOA, caching technologies, multi-threaded and asynchronous architectures, C# language features, and ASP.NET
- Proven capabilities to design services and knowledge about Entity Frameworks
- Passion for building performant, scalable, well-designed, large-scale services
- Strong coding and design fundamentals
- Knowledge in SQL and jQuery/AJAX a big plus

This contract position is 6 months in duration with potential for a full year.
