Seeking a SQL DBA that has SQL administration skills, SQL troubleshooting. Must have Scripting experience preferably in PowerShell, T-SQL, Bash or VBScript.

We are looking for a seasoned Database Administrator or a proactive and eager up and comer who is willing to work hard and learn, to join a fast-paced Database Operations team. As a Database Engineer you be responsible for troubleshooting SQL Server production issues, reviewing and executing deployments, documenting system topologies and processes, and driving both proactive and reactive feedback to the feature teams.

THE DBA WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

- Troubleshooting SQL Server production issues
- Reviewing and executing deployments
- Documenting system topologies and processes
- Driving proactive and reactive feedback to feature teams
- Driving implementation and support of technology solutions
- Documenting and implementing best practices to enable delivery of new technology solutions which improve quality, cost, customer experience and partner satisfaction
- Drive documentation for projects/programs from initiate (scope/approach, schedule, deployments, troubleshooting guides, etc.) to close/hand off to operations.
- Assisting with identifying and implementing business improvements; includes an ability to solve unstructured business problems and deal effectively with ambiguity, and solid relationship and communication skills in working with Program Managers, Product Managers, Release Managers, Test, senior level management, etc.
- Assistance with scheduling, planning meetings, and support program management
- Support of reporting, and standardized documentation, and ad hoc assistance as needed

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

- At least 3 years supporting Microsoft SQL Server, version 2005 or greater, systems in an production environment
- Experience supporting Microsoft SQL Server transactional replication in a production environment
- Experience supporting Microsoft SQL Server High Availability technologies in production, which may include: Database Mirroring, Clustering, or Log Shipping solutions
- Knowledge and experience reviewing T-SQL code and optimizing for performance
- Sound troubleshooting skills and a methodical approach to critical production system down scenarios
- Familiarity with Microsoft products & technologies including: Windows Server, Networking, System Center Operations Manager, System Center Service Manager, and Internet Information Server
- Knowledge of and experience with data center environments/operations required
- Ability to be highly self-directed when required and work closely within a team
- Good customer service skills as well as strong interpersonal communications skills, effective written and oral communication and time management
- Position requires participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Familiarity with industry standard various operations frameworks such as MOF, ITIL, and Service Delivery Lifecycle
- Prior experience working on a large scale E-commerce site/service
