Software Build, Configuration and Release Manager Chester- Salary negotiable depending on experience GIT and Jira My client is currently looking to expand further due to continuous new contracts won over the course of the past year. A privately owned company based inChesteroperating internationally within the oil & gas sector. In 2012 the company won a number of Awards for their innovative products. This exciting role provides the opportunity to drive the adoption of new tools and practices. The company is increasingly adopting agile practices and the successful candidate will play a key part in this transition. Responsibilities The key responsibilities are:- * Build and release management - owning the process of building each release and deploying the system into the target test or production environment - which can be internal or external. * Driving the adoption of GIT & JIRA within the company and administering these systems on an ongoing basis. * Administering the legacy IBM Rational Change and Synergy systems, including associated queries, reports and scripts. * Introducing ongoing improvements to the tools and processes. Skills and experience The following skills and experience are essential:- Experience as software build / configuration / release manger in an agile environment. Experience of configuring JIRA workflows. Experience of administering the Linux stack that underlies the tools. This includes routine housekeeping and PERL scripts. The following skills and experience are highly desirable:- * Prior experience of GIT, Mercurial or legacy task-based configuration management systems such as IBM Rational Synergy & Change, ClearCase, Rational Team Concert or Subversion. We will consider providing necessary top-up training for a strong candidate with good coverage of the essential requirements.
