Social Worker - Band 5 - Nottinghamshire

There is an exciting opportunity to work as a Social Worker within the Men’s Service, St Andrew’s in Nottinghamshire. St Andrew’s in Nottinghamshire has been open since 2010 and is an exciting development of four units, with a total of 64 beds that is located in Mansfield. Providing care pathways for patients, the services comprises of highly specialised Medium and Low Secure units for adult males with an Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Learning Disability. Patients may also present with forensic histories and have associated mental health needs, emotional problems and challenging behaviours.

The service is committed to caring for patients in the least restrictive clinical environment appropriate for their safety needs, and in a manner that facilitates treatment and rehabilitation objectives.

The successful applicant will be a member of the multi-disciplinary team and have good communication and interpersonal skills. There is an expectation that the post holder will seek to develop their skills in the specialist area

You should be in receipt of the Diploma in Social Work or equivalent and have experience and/or knowledge of Mental Health Legislation including the Care Programme Approach

Joining our friendly social work team, you will be managed by a Lead Social Worker and will be accountable to the Clinical Services Manager.

Regular supervision is provided and opportunities for development both in social work and other related practice issues are provided and encouraged. St Andrew’s Social Workers will be registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and there will be opportunities for training to ensure re-registration.
