Site GIS Specialist

A Global Renewable Energy client is looking for a Site GIS Specialist. He/she will be responsible for all geographical data and obtaining all as-built GIS data during construction. Our client is looking for an individual who can start this role approx. 1st September 2015 to up until approx. 31st December 2016 with possibility of extension. Hours of work: 5 working days a week, on an average of 8 hours per day.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- GIS Specialist (Pre-FID-Construction Start)
- Key contact person for newest layout and other GIS data
- Gather, analyse and distribute all relevant geographical data
- Provide expertise knowledge on coordinate systems and other geographical standards
- Implement and ensure quality and reliability in data on standards

SITE GIS (CONSTRUCTION):

- Day to day site task concerning gathering and distributing relevant GIS data
- Updating WindGIS with as built data and installation progress
- Ensure high quality in received data

TASKS:

- Scope and manage site GIS activities
- Introduce site organisation to GIS and WINDGIS including clarification of needs for additional functionality or data available in the web solution
- Keen continuously dialog with site and project to secure that requirements are met
- Secure handover to O & M

STE GIS (CONSTRUCTIONS) TASKS:

- Receive, QC adapt and communicate construction data and progress
- Maintain GIS database
- Ensure daily deliveries to and from construction ships and managers

QUALIFICATIONS:

- MSc or other relevant Master degree in GIS. Level of experience dependent on the role
- Sound knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS
- Experience with WebGIS solution, ArcGIS server
- Experience in working with editing and loading to multiuser databases
- Awareness of projections and transformations
- Perform GIS editing and conversions
- Create metadata to the Crown Estate's MEDIN metadata standard
- General eye for details and proactive nature
- Knowledge of UK and European environmental datasets
