Job Description

The main task of the Application Architect / Designer will be the configuration, support, maintenance and the improvement of DG GROW applications in SharePoint.

Nature of tasks

- Architecture and design of information systems.
- Review of the architecture of existing systems
- Design and development of component architecture and building blocks
- Data analysis and data modelling.
- Coordination of the implementation of the technical architecture
- Production of software architecture and any other technical documentation
- Participation in technical working groups, progress meetings and meetings with the users
- Elaboration of test scenarios and perform integration testing of developed applications.
- Creation of technical specifications from user requirements, including prototyping.
- Configuration and customisation of SharePoint 2010 applications, modules and components to implement effective solutions, limiting the .NET development to a minimum.
- Configuration, optimisation and problem solving of the EPM software on Sharepoint 2010.
- Perform version control operations (using SVN).
- Integration of developed applications with other modules.
- Assistance with deployment and configuration of the system, and with training administrators of the system.

Knowledge and skills

- In depth knowledge of applications design
- Good knowledge of Enterprise Architecture
- Good knowledge of Relational DBMS
- Knowledge of interoperability technology (e.g. web services, message oriented middleware, service oriented bus)
- Good redaction skills.
- Ability to give technical presentations.
- Ability to apply high quality standards
- Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in
- Application architecture and design
- Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, good communication skills.
- Capability of integration in an international, multilingual and multicultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience in working in team.
- In depth knowledge of SharePoint structures and configuration (site collections web parts, lists, services…).
- Knowledge and experience in SharePoint 2010
- Quick learning ability.
- Teamwork spirit, experience in team working.

Specific expertise

- Experience in web application development, in particular the delivery of SharePoint solutions for a variety of business requirements
- Minimum 6 years of experience with web development
- Minimum 3 years of experience with .NET development framework
- Minimum 2 years of experience with delivering Sharepoint solutions
- Minimum 2 years of experience in ASP.net
- Minimum 2 years of experience in C# and/or VB.NET.
- Proven experience in XML/CAML
