SFG Build Engineer

The Role

Work as a of the Build engineer for the installation, configuration and support of a Sterling File Gateway application and associated components

Key Accountabilities

- Active and effective member of the Platform build team participating in the shaping and continuous improvement of the project team with minimal or no supervision to ensure systems are reliable and fit for purpose.
- Promote knowledge sharing within the team.
- Provide build, support and administration of Production including Pre Production Environments (PPE), Test and Development services to agreed performance, and cost metrics.
- Proactive management of the WorldPay environments and recommendation of measures to improve service delivery to the WorldPay customer base.
- Produce relevant technical and build, operational process and procedure documentation for Production, PPE, Test and Development environments.
- Rapid response to and resolution of incidents whilst the application is in warranty.
- Execution of authorised and controlled changes.
- Management and implementation of upgrades to services.
- Fault diagnosis and resolution.
- Escalation of critical issues in accordance with designated processes and procedures
- Deliver services to agreed Service Level and Operational Level Agreements.
- Work with the Enterprise Architecture team to help evaluate and build to requirements and design documents.
- Development and automation of services, processes and procedures.
- Manage installations and software upgrades to ensure all services are kept as current as possible and that license audit is performed and all licenses are in place.
- Ensure that WorldPay Information Security policies and guidelines are adhered to for all platform services.
- Interface and maintain relations with other WorldPay IT and Business teams
- Deliver reporting on Middleware.

- Understanding of ITIL service delivery frameworks
- 2+ years' experience of administering Linux Servers in a Secure environment in a financial institution
- 2+ years' experience of administering Windows Servers in a Secure environment in a financial institution
- DNS fundamentals, BIND Network fundamentals, including diagnostics with Unix tools RedHat Enterprise Linux 5 and 6 or Oracle Enterprise Linux
- Experience of running Linux in a highly virtualised environment
