Service Manager - Children, Child Protection, Children in Need, Social Care, GSCC

A leading local authority is looking for a Service Manager to join their team on an interim basis.

JOB PURPOSE:

-  To co-ordinate, manage and develop resources and services designed to meet the needs of looked after children, children on the child protection register and children in need.
- To co-ordinate  and develop Children's Social Care response to the Early Help/Think Family/Troubled Families Agenda and to develop the joint working arrangements  between adult services and children's services to secure better outcomes for children.
- To support the development of outward facing services operating to a locality/neighbourhood  working model. This will enable better co-ordinated services that are able to reflect the different needs of the borough.
- To be responsible for the deployment and supervision of staff.
- To identify and define the needs of children and young people through effective consultation with service users and service providers, and to plan and develop resources and services to meet needs and new legislative requirements.
- To be responsible for the performance management of the service.
- To support/delivery efficiency improvements within the directorate by identifying innovative ways of working that produce evidence based outcomes for children.
- To assist the Head of Service/Associate Assistant Director in providing a quality service in consultation with service users and their carers.
