A Service Manager role in Edinburgh, for an Industry Leading company complete with generous benefits package Your new company This Industry leading company is based in Edinburgh but has a far-reaching global presence. Specialising in medical software, they supply customers the world over with unrivalled products and services in their field. Your new role Due to continued expansion, a Service Manager is required to join their already renowned IT team. A truly 360 degree role, youll be responsible for contributing to a variety of departments including Technical and Application Support and Training . You will demonstrate the initiative and planning expected from a Service Manager at this level and possess the required technical expertise across a variety of operating systems and databases. The role will not only be technically based as the ability to effectively communicate with and manage the relationships with a number of key clients. You will deal with end user requests/issues and aim to resolve the problems in a timely and effective manner. You will identify areas of improvement within the business in order to stream line the volume of technical support calls. You will be tasked with delegating work to a team and evaluating their performance to lead to an increased level of efficiency. What youll need to succeed Ideally you will have a strong set of analytical skills along with a business orientated mindset. This will be coupled with the ability to confidently present ideas and suggestions to directors as well as end customers. A strong working knowledge across both Microsoft and Linux Operating systems is essential along with a strong technical background in Infrastructure (Virtualization, Networking, Security, Systems). A familiarity across a variety of databases would be highly desirable. You must also display the interpersonal skills to lead a team within a fast paced support environment and deal with customer support issues.
