Server-side Java Developer - Contract Glasgow

I AM LOOKING FOR A SERVER SIDE JAVA DEVELOPER WITH DB2 KNOWLEDGE AND MQ MESSAGING SKILLS TO JOIN AN ON-GOING GLOBAL PROJECT WITHIN AN INVESTMENT BANK IN GLASGOW. LOCAL CANDIDATES ARE PREFERRED HOWEVER EXCELLENT NON-LOCAL CANDIDATES WILL BE CONSIDERED.

Role Description Most of the activities would be for Server Side Java development, with a DB2 backing store, and SOAP based information exchange with MQ for messaging. There will be a simple UI for administration and monitoring purposes.

QUALIFICATIONS

Skills Required
- Java Server Side development
- Multi-threaded programming
- Spring Framework
- CXF service development
- Strong Database skills (DB2 preferably)
- Messaging (MQ preferably)
- Working knowledge of Scripting language /PERL/Shell Scripting
- Strong Unix/Linux skills
- XML data representation
- Familiarity with Build integration using Ant, Ivy, Electric commander
- Familiarity use of perforce for version control
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting and performance tuning skills
- Able to provide implement automated testing on deliverables
- Ability to work as part of a fast-paced global team and deliver to aggressive timescales
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Skills Desired
- Experience with UI technologies like HTML5/Flex and JavaScript libraries like EXT-JS would be a plus
